Whats with LIA 10?

LIA 10.0 software is intended to run with the latest version of ISAP.

LIA 10.0 software are valid for OLP 10 data products.

OLP 10 data products can be obtained from the ISO Data Archive.

Major improvements with respect to previous versions of LIA include: Calibration data:

  • The illuminator calibration file lcir.fits and RSRF file lcgr.fits have all been updated in order to be compatible with OLP 10.

Routines:

  • INSPECT_IPD : Uses the new OLP 10 illuminator algorithm.

  • FP_PROC    (MANY FEATURES FOR L03 AOTs) :

    Overlay of L01 LSAN data
    Use of OLP 10 calibration files
    Compatible with OLP 10 data only
    FP side-order contamination removal
    Reduction of both prime and non-prime data
    Extended grating profiles and throughput coefficients
    Absolute response correction and updated responsivity drift correction

  • MERGEFITS : Utility which merges the FITS files produced when running FP_proc.

  • FPWAVE : Choice of applying velocity correction to FP data when converting from SPD to AAR using velocity coeffs stored in an LSAN or LSPD file header.

  • FP_ORDER : Allows user to do order sorting of FP data (but best done within FP_proc).

  • IRASPHOT : Produces IRAS photometry points from LWS extended grating scans.

  • AUTO_AVG_ALL : Automatically averages LSAN FITS files.


Requirements for installing LIA 10

UNIX and IDL 5.03 or higher (Ideally IDL 5.4).

ISAP version 2.2 or 2.1 should be installed on your computer.
Both ISAP versions 2.2 and 2.1 utilise the OLP 10 calibration files for the LWS.
 

Step-by-Step Procedure to Install LIA 10.0

  • the lia_10.0.tar.gz file should be placed in your current operational directory of ISAP (i.e. the directory that contains ISAPs pro and data directories), e.g. ISAP version 2.2 or 2.1.

    [previous versions of ISAP: LIA 10 should work with ISAP version 2.0 or 1.6 but these versions contain old calibration files - mixing a new version of LIA with an old version of ISAP is not a good idea - therefore it is highly recommended that you keep up-to-date and upgrade to the lastest version of ISAP!]

  • In this directory, unzip and untar the lia_10.0.tar.gz file - it should automatically replace files within your ISAP directory.

  • Make sure that the contents of pro/lia, pro/lia/lia_inter, pro/astrolib and data/cal_lws directories are group and world-readable and group and world-executable.

  • Simply type 'isap com' to enter the LIA working environment.
